1981 Buick Regals
The flip flop schem of Richard and Kyle's regals are pictured here. The 43 car was painted around 1994 . it is a racing champions generic diecast with the numbers cut free handed on whaite decal paper. This car was recently restored with minor touchups and new bumpers and grille added.
Kyle's car is pictured below , it was build from the racing pettys monogram combo set.
1982 Pontiac Grandprix
This kit was built from the above mentioned Petty Racing Combo kit.
Pontiac Transam. This kit was pieced together to represnt the King's personal car made famous in the Unocal 76 commercials during the 1980s.
1983 Pontiac grandprixs
#7 is driven by Kyle and the #43 is Richard's. Both of these kits ar built from the crude AMT 1/25 scale snap/ glue together kits produced in the 1980s. These kits are rare.
This 1984 Pontiac GrandPrix is very crude compared to my other builds. This has happened for a good reason. This kit is an original issue of the Monogram 200 win car. This was the first Petty car I ever built. It was built straight from the box in the molded colors. This kit was built before I was painting them. I built this car in 1986 when I was 15 years old. Compair this to the car built below.
1984 Pontiac Grand Prix
This car cruised to Richard's 200th win. This kit is a Monogram Legend's series. The decals had to be restored due to damage from age.
1985 Pontiac Grandprix
This is an AMT 1/16 scale pontiac built sraight from the box.
1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
This car was loaned to Richard by D.K. Ulrich, after he failed to make the field in the coke 600 in Charlotte. The kit was orignially a Dale Earnhardt car that was accidently dropped and shattered into many pieces. I decided to rebuild the car as a Petty ride. Goodwrench was left on the dash as a reminder of the car's past
1988 Petty Signature Series Pontiac Grand Prix
Ok this is not an exact replica, but I do rememeber several versions of a car like this when I was a teenager. Most noteable was one from Pepsi.
This is just my redition of a petty pontiac. Note ; the silloette on the fender and the 43 oval on the door. This car was once a busch series pace car replica I made many ,any years ago, the hood is from an actual petty car, it was recently reworked and added to the collection.
1988 stp pontiac
This was the last year for the petty blue chassis. The kit was built with modified decal placement using the 1990 petty pontiac amt kit
Kyle Petty's 1988 Peak Pontiac
built from a Monogram kit straight fom the box
1989 Stp Pontiac .This car was built in the 1989 scheme and simulates a pitstop during a race. The otherside is pictured below left.
What good will it do to have a car and not a driver, so pictured below is my richard petty the driver model that will be in the 19 89 car. I will also have pit gear for this car
STP Pontiac Test Car
In January of each year teams take a primered car with only the sponsor's name on it to test at Daytona, this is in prep for the Daytona 500. This is my version of a Richard Petty Test car 1988-1990 body style Pontiac. The kit was built from a Micheal Waltrip #32 Country time Pontiac AMT kit. Decals are scraps from various other kits. This kit took less than 4 hours to build.
